Mathew Carson helped me set up the financing for purchasing my first condo. We recently purchased our first home and feel very lucky that friends had recommended Mathew Carson to us. He helped us enormously through a very trying time... My husband was out of the county for a major portion of the process, and Mathew was my go-to, for questions and advise. We signed on Christmas Eve, funded the day after Christmas, and Mathew was available throughout. The best part was, on the day we were meant to fund and close, the mortgage company started asking for random documents, and we thought we would have to cancel the movers we had booked for the following day. But Mathew took it all the way, calling the VP of the mortgage company, who instantly granted us loan approval, and everything went smoothly after that. This review is for Mathew Carson, the star mortgage broker of First Capital Group. I just closed my refinance today and got a deal -- 2.875%, 15 year fixed, paid just $600-ish to close and did not pay for the appraisal. Mathew took care of every step of the process, I did not have to deal with any bank automatons and although of course lots of docs were needed, it was relatively painless thanks to Mathew.

Excellent service! I was referred to Mathew Carson for my SF condo refi after my original broker left the business and I was lucky to find Mathew. Mine was not an easy case as I was looking for a very specific type of loan - interest only - in this difficult market and had a number of other factors to work around. Great rate and great service! Mathew Carson, was very responsive and provided me with a wealth of options to tailor to my needs. He was always available to answer questions and apparently works long hours to make sure your loan is processed. Not only were his fees and rates significantly lower than all of the other quotes I received, they did a good job to keep the closing costs down. All items I paid came out to be lower than what was quoted on my Good Faith Estimate. No surprises here! Thanks a lot Mathew. Mathew got us a re-finance on our home loan when rates dipped. That was good, but relatively easy. He then got us a new loan to purchase a home without selling our primary home - we had to move fast for my wife's new job, and we had offered a 21-day close of escrow as a 'sweetener'. That was a hard loan, because I am self-employed and speed was paramount. Mathew did an amazing job keeping it all on track and we actually moved in 22 days later to the new house. That was very hard - thus he truly deserved a 5-star rating for this one
